UNI Gallery of Art introduces “Repetition, Suites, and Series”
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa Gallery of Art and Permanent Collection announces its opening art exhibition, "Repetition, Suites, and Series." Located in the Mary Haskell-Hansen Room of the Gallery, this UNI Permanent Art Collection exhibition was curated by Gallery Director Laura Gleissner and will run from August 21 – December 8, 2023. "Repetition, Suites, and Series" showcases a diverse group of artworks from the UNI Permanent Collection. It celebrates artists who push the idea of repetition to create rhythm and emphasis, explore series to evolve thematic connections and produce suites to approach ideas from multiple angles.
Among the works on display are prints, paintings and sculptures by Duane Slick (Native American), Roberto De Lamonica (Brazilian), Justine Ferreri (American), Robert Rauschenberg (American), R.B. Kitaj (American-British), Herbert Bayer (Austrian-American) and more.
All events are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and also by appointment. The gallery is located on the main floor of Kamerick Art Building South.
Please note, the gallery will be closed Monday, Sept. 4 for Labor Day and Nov. 20 – 24 for break.
