Iowa legislature recognizes NCAA champion Parker Keckeisen

Lawmakers in the the Iowa House of Representatives and Iowa Senate took a break from regular business to recognize UNI’s Parker Keckeisen, who secured the NCAA wrestling championship at 184 pounds last month in Kansas City. 

Keckeisen's achievement spurred resolutions in both legislative bodies, accompanied by recognition on the House and Senate floors during the morning of Tuesday, April 9, 2024. 

The Glendale, Wisconsin native is majoring in construction management at UNI and will return for his final campaign next season. He became the first UNI wrestler to cap a perfect season with a national championship since 1961.
