Chiquita Loveless named director of diversity, inclusion, and social justice

The Division of Student Life is pleased to announce Chiquita Loveless as director of diversity, inclusion and social justice beginning July 1. Loveless has been part UNI since 2018 working with military and veteran students and serving as interim director. She is passionate about continuing to serve marginalized, LGBTQ+, military and veteran students at UNI.

Retirement Readiness: Retire from UNI

Human Resource Services will host an informational session on retiring from UNI, for faculty and staff planning to retire soon or in the foreseeable future. Participants will learn guidelines and benefits available at retirement from UNI. This hour-long session will be presented by Therese Callaghan, Employee Well-being Coordinator, via Zoom on Wednesday, June 29 at 10 a.m. Please register in advance.

Retirement Readiness: Social Security and Your Retirement

Human Resource Services will host an informational session on Social Security benefits. The forty-five minute session will be presented by Pam Corrick with AIG via Webcast. It will be offered four times on Tuesday, June 21 at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. Please register in advance.

Start West 27th Street Reconstruction

Cedar Falls will start on Phase I of W. 27th Street reconstruction from East of Panther Parkway to The Quarters at Cedar Falls (East of Greenhill Road) on Tuesday, May 31. The phase will wrap up in approximately two months.

Jean Wiesley Retirement Reception

Please join us as we celebrate Jean Wiesley's retirement from UNI with a reception Thursday, June 9 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Piazza Dining Center in Redeker Center. Jean has spent her 21 years at UNI in Housing & Dining (formerly Department of Residence). Congratulations to Jean.

Parking Lot Striping

The Gilchrist, Wellness and Rec Center metered, and Baker parking lot are scheduled for restriping any time after 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, weather permitting.

MMTC Parking Ramp Closed for Power Washing

The Multimodal Transportation (MMTC) parking ramp will be closed Thursday, May 26 to Friday, May 27 for annual power washing. The surface lot adjacent remains open for "A" and "B" permit parking.

Textbook Equity 101

Did you know that nationally textbook costs have increased faster than tuition? Nearly half of UNI students report not purchasing required texts. Find out what the campus wide textbook equity initiative, led by Rod Library, is doing to solve academic challenges that textbook barriers present.  Faculty, staff, and students are welcome to come and learn how to get involved.
