Fireworks Over the Dome has been rescheduled for Sunday, July 5, giving the Cedar Valley community an opportunity to wrap up the holiday weekend with one of the region's largest fireworks displays. Originally scheduled for July 2, the event was moved because of inclement weather, creating a fitting grand finale to the extended holiday weekend.

The free event, presented by the City of Cedar Falls and the University of Northern Iowa, begins at approximately 9:40 p.m. at the intramural fields west of the UNI-Dome. Parking lots and green spaces will open at 7 p.m.

The event serves as a rare opportunity to celebrate three historic milestones in a single evening: the 250th anniversary of the United States, the UNI Sesquicentennial Celebration—marking 150 years of the university—and the 50th anniversary of Sturgis Falls, Cedar Falls' signature community festival.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show from the green spaces surrounding the UNI-Dome. Concessions will be available for purchase through UNI Athletics, and the fireworks will be broadcast live with a synchronized soundtrack on 93.5 The Mix for those attending in person.
