Grace Fleming thought she had to have her life figured out before she ever stepped on campus. She thought she needed to have a major picked out and know exactly what she was going to do in order to be successful.

So that’s what she did. Her first year at UNI, Fleming worked toward a teaching degree, but knew that it wasn’t what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. At the start of her second year, Fleming began working in the Office of Academic Advising as a peer advisor. By the end of her training, Fleming realized she needed to try something different and decided to become an exploratory student to find her true passion. Now she’s found her major in recreation, tourism and nonprofit leadership and is excited for what the future holds.
