UNI Department of Technology to host Alumni In Residence on March 24

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa Department of Technology will host Kia Spande as part of the Alumni In Residence program from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, March 24, in Room 3 of the Innovative Teaching and Technology Center on the UNI campus.

Spande is a UNI manufacturing technology alumnus who has worked with General Motors for the past 25 years and currently serves as the plant manager for the Corvette facility. He will discuss his UNI experience, how it benefitted him throughout his career and the manufacturing processes used to produce the 2017 Z06 Corvette. Weather permitting, he may drive a 2017 Z06 Corvette to UNI and discuss its performance capabilities.
