UNI to induct students into Teacher Education Program on March 30

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa College of Education will host its bi-annual Teacher Education Induction Convocation at 4 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, in the Great Hall of the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center.

Two hundred twenty-nine students have satisfied the requirements for admission into the UNI Teacher Education Program and are invited to participate in the formal ceremony, the official induction of students into that field of study. The Hansen family, representing UNI alumni and students, will deliver the convocation address. Jim Wohlpart, provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs, will perform official duties. UNI President Bill Ruud will also be in attendance.

This will be the 51st group of candidates inducted into the Teacher Education program since formal ceremonies began in 1991. Parents and friends of the candidates are invited along with UNI faculty and administrators. A reception will follow in the lobby.
