What happens when you bring together the musical artistry of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony, the theatrical creativity of Cedar Falls Community Theatre and Waterloo Community Playhouse, and the ingenuity and inspiration of the Gallagher Bluedorn? A community collaboration that is guaranteed to delight and amaze audiences from across the Cedar Valley and beyond.

“Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” runs April 22 and 23 for three performances at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. Garnering the cumulative creative energy and the spirit of local artists and local arts organizations, this production features all of the well-known songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s beloved story of family, forgiveness, and love. Popular songs from this musical include “Any Dream Will Do,” “Go, Go, Go Joseph,” “Song of the King” and “Close Every Door.”

The production features an impressive cast and crew of 41 actors and 13 creative team members that are all local to the Cedar Valley.

“Great directing, acting, production and music, supported by resources that allow us to dream bigger than ever, have allowed us to craft a new production of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ for our shared communities and audiences,” shared Steve Carignan, Executive Director of Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center.

The idea for this project began prior to the pandemic and now, almost three years later, this dream has become reality. Coming out of the pandemic, this production highlights the wealth of creative talent in the community and aims to be a joyous celebration of the arts in the Cedar Valley as we continue our return to normal.
