We are pleased to announce the availability of funding for public programming and research projects that align with the goals of UNI’s upcoming 150th-anniversary commemoration.
Six physics students and two faculty members spent last week in New Orleans presenting their research at the annual Intermag/Magnetism & Magnetic Materials (MMM) conference. The presentations covered research funded by multiple grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Materials being studied in the students research included nickel/molybdenum disulfide nanostructures, nickel/chromium triiodide nanostructures, and various Heusler alloys.
The University of Northern Iowa Gallery of Art announces its first exhibition of the spring semester, “Applied Arts Group Exhibition,” on display from Jan. 21 to Feb. 21. A curatorial talk and opening reception will be held Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 6 p.m. in Kamerick Art Building Auditorium room 111. The event is free and open to the public. Exhibition catalogs, generously funded by the Friends of the Permanent Art Collection and Gallery, will be released at the opening reception.
The University of Northern Iowa has requested approval from the Iowa Board of Regents to acquire the apartment complex currently known as The Quarters adjacent to campus in Cedar Falls.
