TheatreUNI presents “Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy”

Dracula: a Feminist Revenge Fantasy, really

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - For its second production of the 2023-2024 season, TheatreUNI will present “Dracula: a Feminist Revenge Fantasy'' written by Kate Hamill and based on the novel by Bram Stoker.

Performances will be held Oct. 26-28 and Nov. 2-4 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. All performances will take place in Bertha Martin Theatre on the University of Northern Iowa campus.

Kate Hamill, well-known for her contemporary theatrical adaptations of classic literature, boldly reimagines the world’s most famous vampire story from a feminist point of view. Tables are turned and roles reversed as the heroines of this play plunge a wooden stake into the heart of the patriarchy itself.
