TheatreUNI presents “The Language Archive” by Julia Cho

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – TheatreUNI will present “The Language Archive” – a fast-paced, modern tragi-comedy with an essence of magical realism, written by Julia Cho.
The second production of the 2026-2027 season, “The Language Archive” focuses on George, a man consumed with preserving and documenting the dying languages of far-flung cultures though, at home, language is failing him. He doesn't know what to say to his wife Mary to keep her from leaving him, and he doesn't recognize the deep feelings that his lab assistant Emma has for him. This melancholy, whimsical comedy will make you laugh, cry and feel everything in between while you ponder the question: “Can you be loved without being understood?”
Public performances will be held Oct. 30, Nov. 5 and 6 at 7:30 p.m. and
Oct. 31, Nov. 1 and 7 at 2 p.m. All performances will take place in the Bertha Martin black box theatre within the Strayer-Wood Theatre on campus.
