Need an introduction or refresher to the fundamentals of using Social Media for effectively marketing your business or organization? 

The MBA program in the College of Business Administration at UNI announced a new graduate level one credit course on Social Media Marketing to be offered to its students taught by professional marketer Sara Kies with start dates in April, 2021.

This course will cover the fundamentals of choosing the right social platforms, establishing clear goals, strategy development, crisis communication, and success measurement. The course will offer theoretical models and readings - but will focus on hands-on application using platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Instructor Sara Kies notes “Business and marketing leaders today must have a foundational understanding of the positive impact social media can play in business development, customer acquisition, and retention. I'm excited to share my integrated approach to successfully using social media as part of an integrated marketing strategy.”

Kies is an award-winning marketer with a 20 year track record of providing leadership, brand management, and marketing innovation working at businesses such as Martin Brothers, Spinutech, and UNI’s College of Business Administration. In 2018, Kies was named Cedar Valley MVP Marketer by the American Advertising Federation.

This one credit course is open to current graduate students at UNI, as well as local professionals who wish to take the class as a non-degree seeking student. The tuition cost of the course is $606 plus applicable fees.
