CEDAR FALLS, Iowa –  The Princeton Review has named the David W. Wilson College of Business Master of Business Administration (MBA) program as one of the Best Business Schools for 2025. UNI is one of only 213 institutions nationwide to earn this prestigious recognition — an honor the program has consistently held for 19 years.

Some key factors that led to the Wilson College of Business ranking include its repeated national recognition for quality and value, as well as accessible, student-focused faculty who are deeply invested in student success. These strengths, along with the following program features, helped distinguish UNI among the nation’s best:

  • Competitive tuition rates
  • Accommodating class schedules
  • Small classes
  • Emphasis on teamwork in coursework
  • Knowledgeable and experienced faculty
  • Responsiveness to students

“I’m proud that our MBA continues to be ranked as a top program,” said Alicia Rosburg, MBA program coordinator. “It speaks volumes about the dedication of our faculty, our innovative curriculum, and the career outcomes of our graduates. With a recently revamped curriculum, we’re helping business professionals gain the knowledge they need — in less time and fewer classes — so they can advance their careers without putting them on pause.”

The Princeton Review editors evaluate more than 60 data points — including student surveys — to determine their annual list of Best Business Schools. Key factors include affordability, faculty accessibility, and career outcomes for graduates. The selections for the 2025 list took into account data from surveys the company conducted in 2025 of administrators at 244 schools offering on-campus MBA programs as well as surveys over the past three academic years of 22,800 students enrolled in the programs.

“Since 2004, when we developed our business school designations and rankings, our purpose has been to help students choose the b-school and program best for them," said Rob Franek, The Princeton Review's Editor-in-Chief. "The schools that made our lists for 2025 share four characteristics that inform our criteria for designating them as 'best': excellent academics, robust experiential learning components, outstanding career services, and positive feedback about them from enrolled students we surveyed.”

The UNI MBA program is designed with flexibility in mind, serving both full-time and part-time students through modular scheduling. Last year, the program moved to a fully online option, making it more accessible than ever. This innovative format divides the MBA into eight-week modules, with five modules offered each year. The modular structure allows qualified, full-time students to complete the program in as little as one year, while part-time students can progress at their own pace — typically finishing in two years.

Designed to provide working professionals with maximum flexibility, the MBA curriculum is organized into 10 courses spread across three certificate programs. This structure allows students to earn individual certificates to gain specific business knowledge or to complete all three certificates at their own pace to earn a full MBA.
