USASBE Celebrates Winners of 2021 3E Competition
On January 8, The United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE) announced the 2021 winners of the Entrepreneurship Experiential Exercises (3E) Competition during the organization’s USASBE 2021: Be Boldly Unscripted annual conference.
The top three place finishers in this year’s 3E Competition are as follows:
First Place: “Two Pros and a Con” by Briana Stenard (Mercer University)
Second Place: “Connect the Dots: A Card Game for Teaching Cognitive Frameworks and Uncertainty and Opportunity Recognition” by Craig Armstrong (University of Alabama)
Third Place: “Improvisational Entrepreneurship and the Modern Library” by Lindi Roelofse, Anton Reiter, Gail Bunz, Jim Kelly, Laurie Watje, and Rick Seeley (all from University of Northern Iowa)
The Entrepreneurship Experiential Education (3E) Competition grew from the 3e-Learning Project at George Washington University, and sought to establish more and better use of entrepreneurial experiential learning exercises and games used as teaching tools to assist educators in teaching entrepreneurship, small business, and new venture development. Since its inception, the competition has taken place each year at the USASBE conference, and the top experiential exercises are posted in a collection of Teaching Exercises on USASBE’s website.
“The competition for these awards is getting increasingly challenging,” said Julie Shields, CEO of USASBE. “And, these sessions are consistently some of the most well-attended sessions at our annual conference. This year we were able to offer unlimited seating at the sessions since it was a virtual event.”
"TCU was excited to sponsor the 3E competition," said Rodney D’Souza, Managing Director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
“We celebrate all the finalists, and look forward to their continued innovation and ingenuity,” said Matt Smilor, director of TCU’s Values and Ventures program.
