CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Summer in the Cedar Valley means fun in the sun, time with friends and BLOCK PARTIES!

Gallagher Bluedorn Block Parties are back! Since 2021, Block Party summer neighborhood concerts have provided an opportunity for neighbors to gather, build community and experience great music together.

“Block Parties are such fun events for us,” said Jennifer Onuigbo, community relations manager at Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. “We love being out in the community, meeting our neighbors and lifting up the talent of local musicians. And since there is no cost to attend, these events are accessible to everyone.”

The series features local artists performing on the Gallagher Bluedorn’s portable stage in eight Cedar Valley neighborhoods between May and August. The stage is equipped with state-of-the-art light and sound equipment that you would typically expect at a Gallagher Bluedorn performance. 

This year’s lineup is a veritable “who’s who” of musical talent in the area. Each of the featured bands has a strong following in the community, and with diverse musical styles and genres, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

In addition to six neighborhood block parties, the Gallagher Bluedorn will again be working with the North End Arts and Culture Center and Juneteenth to provide stage and audio support for their lineup of performers. “This is our fourth year of partnering with Juneteenth and third for the North End Fest. We are thrilled that the organizers welcome the Gallagher Bluedorn back each year for these dynamic community celebrations,” says Onuigbo.

All events are free and open to the public, and those interested in attending should plan to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating. Many of the neighborhoods are planning to bring in food vendors and other activities as well.  

Regardless of whether you choose to attend one event or all eight, one thing is for certain: you’re guaranteed to have a great time with the Gallagher Bluedorn this summer!
