Iowa High School Speech Association All State Speech Festival takes over UNI

The University of Northern Iowa was full of energy and creativity on Monday, March 25, as high school students from all across the state of Iowa took over campus for the Iowa High School Speech Association (IHSSA) Individual Event All State Festival.

Students gather in the McLeod Center to kick off the All State Speech FestivalThis annual gathering of young orators and performers has become a tradition of excellence in the realm of speech and drama, drawing participants from far and wide to showcase their remarkable talents in areas such as acting, improv, musical theatre, poetry, storytelling and radio news.

Following an opening ceremony in the McLeod Center, the campus became a bustling hive of activity as students dispersed to locations across campus including Commons, Lang Hall, Maucker Union, Rod Library, Seerley Hall and Strayer Wood Theatre. 

Next year’s edition of the IHSSA will mark a milestone occasion, as UNI proudly hosts the 45th installment of All State Speech in 2025.
