Panther basketball fans are invited to gather for a March Madness celebration as UNI Athletics hosts an NCAA March Madness Selection Sunday watch party, open to the public at the Diamond Event Center located at 5307 Caraway Lane in Cedar Falls on Sunday. 

Doors open at 3:30 p.m., with opportunities for fans to take photos with the MVC Championship Trophy and March Madness signage and enjoy food and drinks available for purchase. The first 300 attendees will receive a limited-edition championship poster.

The CBS March Madness Selection Show begins at 5 p.m., when fans will learn where the Panthers are headed and who their initial opponent will be in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament.

The watch party comes on the heels of a historic championship run in St. Louis, where the UNI Panthers men's basketball captured the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Tournament title to secure the league’s automatic bid — the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in 10 years. Head coach Ben Jacobson’s squad became the first Valley team to ever win four tournament games in four days to win the MVC title.
