Panther women’s basketball named to WBCA Academic Top-25

The UNI women's basketball team tied for the sixth highest team grade-point average (GPA) among Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) members during the 2023-24 season, as announced by the WBCA on Wednesday.
The WBCA Academic Top-25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2023-24 season is the 29th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
The 2023-24 season saw the Panther post the highest team GPA in the Tanya Warren era with a 3.780 cumulative GPA. That GPA was ranked sixth in the nation in a tie with Green Bay. This is the second straight year the Panthers have been in the top 10 after being ranked eighth last season with a 3.714.
