CEDAR Falls, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa is excited to welcome The Pork Tornadoes for its 2024 Homecoming bash. The free Oct. 25 event will feature the band’s unique spin on favorite songs from artists like Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, One Direction, The Killers, Third Eye Blind and Coolio, covering classics from the 80s to current Top 40 anthems. The Friday night homecoming concert starts at 7 p.m. on Lawther Field on central campus.

As the Midwest’s favorite party band, the Pork Tornadoes are known for delivering fun, high-energy performances. Spectators can enjoy the sights and sounds of the show, as the band offers a truly immersive experience. The Pork Tornadoes are not only an Iowa entertainment sensation — they also have direct ties to UNI. The band got its start performing in Cedar Falls, and includes 2010 UNI alums Cory Talbot on bass and keyboardist Jerry Lorenson.

Love for the Pork Tornadoes can easily be seen by the more than 20 million views on their videos and more than 100,000 social media fans worldwide. The band’s debut EP peaked at #20 on the Apple iTunes pop charts and has been streamed more than 2 million times. The Pork Tornadoes’ cover of “Tennessee Whiskey” remains one of the most viewed covers of the song.

In addition to the special performance Friday night, Homecoming week at UNI will feature signature events such as the football game and the Homecoming parade in downtown Cedar Falls.
