CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – With high school seniors and transfer students in the thick of college application season, the University of Northern Iowa is proud to offer a week to submit applications for free Oct. 15-20. During Free Application Week, incoming freshmen and transfer students can apply to UNI without paying the typical application fee, saving a minimum of $40 with each application.

"UNI is thrilled to offer Free Application Week,” said Terri Crumley, director of admissions at UNI. “We believe every student should have the opportunity for long-term career stability and the many other benefits that a four-year degree provides. We don't want an application fee to be a barrier for any student who may want to join the Panther community."

UNI is committed to maintaining its position as the most affordable public university in Iowa and understands cost can often be a barrier to higher education. This includes application fees, which can quickly add up, especially when a student is applying to several institutions. By temporarily waiving this fee, the University of Northern Iowa stays true to its mission of offering high-quality education that is affordable and accessible.

To take advantage of Free Application Week, submit your application on apply.uni.edu with the application fee code OCT24. The free application only applies to the UNI application fee, not the Common App.

University of Northern Iowa admissions staff are available to answer questions about submitting applications Monday through Friday during regular business hours. More information about admissions and financial aid at UNI is available on the University of Northern Iowa website
