UNI offers Free Application Week Oct. 16-21

As college application season heats up for high schoolers and transfer students, the University of Northern Iowa is proud to offer a free application week on Oct. 16-21. During this event, freshmen and transfer students can apply to UNI without paying the typical application fee, and this year it also aligns with National Transfer Student Week.

UNI is committed to offering the most affordable public university education in Iowa and understands that cost can often be a barrier to higher education. This includes application fees, which can quickly add up, especially when a student is applying to several institutions. By temporarily waiving this fee, the University of Northern Iowa stays true to its mission of offering high-quality education that is affordable and accessible.

"UNI is thrilled to offer Free Application Week,” said Terri Crumley, director of admissions at UNI. “We believe every high school and transfer student should have the opportunity for long-term career stability that a four-year degree provides. Waiving the application fee removes a financial barrier that could hinder a student from joining the Panther community."

During Free Application Week, students can also submit their FAFSA and scholarship applications to make an informed decision before they commit to a college.

Enter the application fee code OCT23 before submitting your application on apply.uni.edu. The free application only applies to the UNI application, not the common application.
