Former UNI defensive lineman Khristian Boyd joined the pantheon of Panther greats hearing their names called on draft night as the All-American defender was selected 199th overall to the New Orleans Saints in the sixth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.

Boyd becomes the 23rd football player to be drafted out of the University of Northern Iowa, the tenth UNI player selected in the NFL Draft in the Mark Farley era, the second straight Panther picked up by the Saints following Trevor Penning in 2022.
