UNI booth to spread Panther Pride to Iowa State Fair goers
In what has become an annual tradition, the University Northern Iowa will once again be hosting a booth at the Iowa State Fair and joining in the 11-day celebration of all the incredible things Iowa has to offer.
Starting Aug. 11, more than a million people will converge on the Iowa State Fairgrounds through to take in various attractions including live music, rides, games and the world-famous butter cow, and UNI will be there for every moment offering giveaways, photo ops with the university’s beloved mascots TK and TC and information about life at the university.
The fairgrounds will be open each day from 8 a.m. to midnight from Aug. 11 - 21. Tickets purchased in advance are $9 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 to 11. Tickets purchased at the gate are $14 and $8, respectively.
The UNI booth will be open every day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Varied Industries Building on the Iowa State Fairgrounds — at 3000 East Grand Ave. in Des Moines — and will be giving away tons of free goodies, including football and volleyball posters, magnets, a limited supply of reusable bags, waterless temporary tattoos and more!
The UNI Bookstore will also be at the booth so you can stock up on your UNI apparel and gift items.
The single largest event in the state, the Iowa State Fair boasts 11 days of family fun, celebration of agricultural achievement and tons of great local food and drinks, annually attracting more than a million people from all over the world.
Each day at the fair will also feature live music at the Susan Knapp Amphitheater and big-name headline shows each night — including ZZ Top, Disturbed, Alanis Morissette and Carrie Underwood — at the Grandstand, tickets for which are sold separately from the fair’s general admission.
