UNI welcomes Jamie Jones as assistant director of marketing
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa is pleased to welcome Jamie Jones to the Office of University Relations as assistant director of marketing.
In this position, Jones will be responsible for developing and coordinating marketing campaigns to increase state and regional awareness of the university as well as strengthening the overall UNI brand to enhance student recruitment efforts.
“We are excited to welcome Jamie to our talented team at UNI,” said UNI Director of University Relations Pete Moris. “She brings a wealth of expertise from her many years working in higher education and in the private sector. Jamie possesses a very unique skill set that I am confident will help us build on the momentum we have at UNI.”
Jones comes to UNI from the Gundersen Health System, now Emplify Health. She brings more than a decade of experience in higher education marketing and communications, having worked at the University of Iowa, Mount Mercy University, and Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois.
A native of Dike, Iowa, she has many fond memories of attending events on the UNI campus.
"I grew up cheering on the Panther volleyball team in the West Gym and participating in several school events on campus," said Jones. "I'm thrilled to join the UNI community and work with campus partners to share the UNI student-first experience."
Jones earned her bachelor’s degree in sports marketing and public relations from Wartburg College then went on to earn a Master of Strategic Leadership from Mount Mercy University. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, going to concerts, playing cards and watching her niece's volleyball games.
