CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The UNI Department of Communication & Media will host guest speaker Kathy Bresnahan, author of “The Miracle Season,” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 in the Lang Hall Auditorium on UNI’s campus.

A former varsity coach at Iowa City West High, Bresnahan’s book tells the true story of an Iowa high school’s volleyball team that struggles to continue with their season following the tragic death of their star player.

Bresnahan’s talk will explore the process of writing a bestselling book and developing that story into a major motion picture starring Academy Award winners Helen Hunt and William Hurt.

Bresnahan will also give a keynote address at the UNI Department of Communication & Media’s annual Fast Forward Digital Media workshop at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18. 

These events are free and open to the public. All are welcome to attend.
