TEDxUniversity of Northern Iowa debuts theme “Creating Tomorrow”
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – TEDxUniversity of Northern Iowa has unveiled “Creating Tomorrow” as its theme for the Oct. 25 event that celebrates people with ideas worth spreading. Speakers and performers from the Midwest will take center stage in the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center for an evening of inspiration, exploration and connection.
“We’re curating a group of the brightest speakers in the Midwest and beyond, and I’m excited to hear how they are creating tomorrow,” said Jesse Heath, event organizer and employee relations coordinator at the University of Northern Iowa. The speaker lineup will be released later this spring, and tickets will be available for public sale on June 27.
TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share TED-like experiences, which are devoted to curiosity, reason, wonder and the pursuit of knowledge — without an agenda. At the TEDxUniversity of Northern Iowa event, live speakers and musical performances combine to spark deep discussion and connection. A similar event was organized at UNI in 2015.
“It’s very exciting to bring this event back to the UNI campus after 10 years,” said Heath, noting that TEDxUniversity of Northern Iowa is one of many events during the UNI Sesquicentennial Celebration. “As we look back on UNI’s history, we can also look forward and dream about creating a brighter tomorrow.”
