RAGBRAI is coming to Cedar Falls this summer - here’s how UNI will be involved

Cedar Falls is getting ready to welcome thousands of RAGBRAI bicyclists, support teams and fans who will make their way into town this summer. On Thursday, July 24, RAGBRAI will arrive in Cedar Falls, bringing not just bicycles, but music, energy and excitement to the community.
Fittingly, the theme of the day is “College Jersey Day,” so expect to see a wave of Panther pride as alumni and friends wear purple and gold to celebrate the ride’s return to the Cedar Valley.
The official entry route, announced this week, will bring cyclists into Cedar Falls on Highway 57/West 1st Street, heading south on Union Road, then continuing east via 12th Street into the heart of downtown. Click here to see the route into Cedar Falls.
While the official route will turn several blocks short of entering campus, the University of Northern Iowa is offering on-campus accommodations in Dancer Hall for $40, which includes single rooms, linens and access to free laundry facilities. Parking for support buses and RVs will also be available on campus.
During the downtown celebration, UNI will host a vendor booth with Panther giveaways and other surprises for visitors. You’ll also spot UNI signage along the route, welcoming riders to Panther Country and showing off our community spirit. This will also be the first time many will see signage in the community for the UNI Sesquicentennial Celebration, which kicks off later this fall.
You can find more information about Cedar Falls RAGBRAI on the city’s official website, CedarFallsRAGBRAI.org.
UNI volunteers will be needed! Whether you're on the ride, want to help along the route, or interested in helping greet riders at the UNI booth, we'd love to have your support. Sign up to lend a hand by visiting our online form!
