Register for the 17th African American Children & Families Conference

Registration remains open for this year's African American Children and Families Conference on February 17. This virtual event is free to UNI faculty, staff and students. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Kenneth Morris Jr., a descendant of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington, speak on "History, Human Rights and the Power of One," as well presentations from locally and nationally recognized speakers and several panel presentations. The day begins with a tribute to Gloria Kirkland Holmes, the event's co-founder and a professor emerita in the College of Education who passed away in December in the midst of her ongoing coordination of the event.  Register here to receive Zoom links to this event. Registration is also available for community and professional audiences for a small fee. Social work credits available. Questions? Contact Amy Curley at coe-events@uni.edu
