During the week of spring break, UNI Physics majors Brandon Schmidt, Caden Sadler and Salimatou Diallo attended the American Physical Society's Global Physics Summit 2025 in Anaheim, California. There, they presented their research on magnetic Heusler alloys. Caden presented a talk on his recent computational work on quaternary Heusler compounds, while Brandon and Salimatou presented a poster on their recent theoretical and experimental work on NiFeMnAl and related compounds. All these materials may have potential applications in the emerging field of spintronics. The research and conference travel were generously funded by the National Science Foundation.
