The finance industry is booming, driven by advancements in technology and the growing demand for knowledgeable, reliable financial experts across all organizations. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, job opportunities in finance are projected to grow 9-17% over the next decade, which is much faster than the national average.

For aspiring finance professionals, there’s no better destination than Des Moines. A study by Journo Research and the financial website Plus 500 ranked the city as a top location for finance careers.

The study analyzed nearly 387 communities across the U.S. and found that Des Moines offers an average financial industry salary of nearly $89,000 — 41% higher than the metro area’s overall average. Additionally, workers in Des Moines spend just 11.8% of their income on rent, making it an attractive place to live and work.
