UPDATE: Fireworks Over the Dome rescheduled to July 2
Original story: The University of Northern Iowa is proud to once again partner with Cedar Falls Tourism and the City of Cedar Falls to present Fireworks Over the Dome, a community-wide celebration set for Thursday, June 26, 2025, at approximately 9:40 p.m. on the UNI campus.
This dazzling fireworks display is the perfect kickoff to a week of summer fun, leading into the Sturgis Falls Celebration, Cedar Basin Music Festival, and the Fourth of July. New this year, guests can enjoy on-site concessions courtesy of UNI Athletics, so be sure to arrive early to grab a snack and find your ideal viewing spot.
“We are thrilled to bring back Fireworks Over the Dome for a second year in Cedar Falls,” said Mayor Danny Laudick. “The public response we received last year was incredible, and we can’t wait to continue building on this new (yet old) tradition. This year’s show will be longer and even more spectacular than before, thanks to the work of our amazing City staff, event sponsors, and our partnership with UNI.”
Tune your radio to K92.3 FM for a specially curated soundtrack to accompany the show.
We’re proud to bring this exciting community event to campus again and invite you to be part of the tradition.
