If you love working with young children, a degree in early childhood education is just what you need to turn your passion into a career. Alexandria Powell enrolled in the University of Northern Iowa’s renowned teacher education program to do exactly that!

“Once I started my teaching classes and being in the classroom, it was amazing getting to build connections with these kids and helping them learn and helping them get a foot out in the world,” said Alexandria. “It’s important for someone to go into that field and make the classroom an environment where the kids can feel completely comfortable, safe and open to learning.”

As soon as Alexandria set foot on campus, she knew the University of Northern Iowa was right for her and not just because of the early childhood education program. It was the perfect size and the smaller classroom environments would make getting to know professors an easier process.
