UNI mascots go "Over the Edge" for Cedar Valley United Way

On a pleasant Friday afternoon in late September, everyone’s favorite mascot duo, TC and TK, attended the Over the Edge Cedar Valley event at Techworks in Waterloo. The mascots bravely represented their community by rappelling down the six-story Techworks building, paws and all.

Cedar Valley United Way hosted Over the Edge, an urban rappelling event, to fundraise for local organizations and programs. The rappelling activity provides sponsors with a unique and powerful experience to support non-profits within the community. The event raised over $27,000 for Cedar Valley United Way, a local non-profit providing funds to vital programs within the community.

TC and TK fearlessly geared up for their venture and made their way to the top of the building. After 30 minutes of anticipation from all participants, the mascots kicked off the event, rappelling down the building first. With supportive cheers from the spectators, the mascots began their descent. The pair scaled all six stories without a sign of fear, repping UNI with each kick off the building's side.

Once grounded, the beloved mascots met each other with a strong high-five and cheers from the audience. The Panthers completed their plunge down the building, ultimately helping to fundraise for programs in the community, while showcasing what Panther Pride is all about.
