UNI senior Aaron Brown is already weighing three job offers - and he won’t even graduate until December. The construction management major is part of a Panther program that has doubled in size over the last five years as industry demand accelerated. UNI is the only university in Iowa that offers a four-year construction management degree.
Waterloo high school students will be able to earn multiple degrees in just four years while paying only two years of tuition thanks to a new partnership between the University of Northern Iowa, Hawkeye Community College and the Waterloo Community School District.
The first time she stepped inside of the UNI Metal Casting Center, surrounded by the red-hot glow of molten metal, Maria Alverio knew she was hooked. “There are two types of people in this world: the type who see molten metal and run away, and the type who can’t help but go closer. I’m definitely the second type,” Alverio said.
