Panther Pantry Ruck for Hunger

The Panther Pantry Ruck for Hunger sponsored by the UNI Army ROTC is collecting donations now through Monday, December 12. Donations can be dropped off at the Nielsen Field House, the Wellness Center, Schindler Education Center, Curris Business Building and the Office of Admissions in Gilchrist Hall. Donations will be moved to Maucker Union on Tuesday, December 13. For more information on donation needs, visit the Panther Pantry Donation list page.

Relationships as the Beating Heart of Higher Education: An Evening with Leo Lambert

On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, Leo Lambert will bring together faculty and staff from Wartburg College and the University of Northern Iowa to explore the power of putting authentic relationships at the core of higher learning. Dr. Lambert, who is president emeritus of Elon College and co-author (with Peter Felten) of Relationship-Rich Education: How Human Connections Drive Success in College (2021), will visit via Zoom through a personal mentorship connection with President Rebecca Neiduski of Wartburg College. Unfortunately, you may not realize just how much personal data are on your devices — far more than your computer. University of Northern Iowa Receives Iowa-Illinois Safety Council's President's Award.

The Iowa-Illinois Safety Council's President’s Award recognizes organizations for their outstanding contributions with controlling hazards in the workplace. This year's award recognizes the work of the joint efforts of UNI's Facilities Management Safety Committee, Applied Engineering & Technical Management Safety Committee, and Environmental Health and Safety.

Retirement Readiness: Retire from UNI

Human Resource Services will host an informational session on retiring from UNI, for faculty and staff planning to retire soon. This hour-long session will be presented by Therese Callaghan, Employee Well-being Coordinator, on January 5 at 10 a.m. & 2 p.m. in Gilchrist 007. Please register in advance.

McElroy Fellowship

McElroy Fellowship candidates must intend to pursue a Ph.D. and be a December 2022 or May 2023 graduate with a liberal arts degree. Awardees will receive $12,000 per year for three years to help defray education costs. In addition to an above-average academic record, students will be evaluated on their character, leadership and general interests. Potential applicants should contact Bryce Kanago to express interest and discuss eligibility. The UNI application deadline is Monday, January 30, 2023.
