GROE College & Jackson Family Launch Doctorate Dissertation Award

The University of Northern Iowa is proud to launch the Drs. Dale & Vivian Jackson Endowed Dissertation Completion Award. This award, designed to support doctoral students completing their dissertations, reflects the Jackson family's commitment to academic excellence and scholarly research in the field of education.
This award provides $1,000 for one Doctor of Education (EdD) candidate each year who is within one year of completing their dissertation. This support enables students to focus on their research and writing. Dale Jackson is a former professor of education at UNI, while Vivian Jackson is a former UNI administrator. Through their gift, they join a growing number of UNI emeriti and alumni expanding opportunities while encouraging innovation and impact among students, faculty, and staff still on campus.
"We are very grateful to Dale and Vivian Jackson for their generosity in making this award possible," said Stephanie Huffman, EdD, Dean of the College of Graduate, Research and Online Education (GROE). "This award makes a real difference in the lives of our doctoral students, and it allows them to focus on their research without worrying about financial constraints."
