Graduation Related Events

Many organizations and departments are recognizing graduating seniors in the final weeks before the end of the semester. In an effort to streamline information for graduates, the Office of the Registrar is requesting departments complete this survey of graduation-related events.

Requesting Information on Cords & Stoles Utilization at Commencement

The UNI Office of the Registrar is seeking to create a database on student organizations and others that provide stoles or cords for their graduates to wear at Commencement. Please complete this survey for your organization to be included. 

Be Prepared for the Green Dot Launch

Green Dot is coming to UNI this fall. Green Dot is a NISG-sponsored bystander intervention program. Register now for the Wednesday, July 13 faculty and staff Green Dot overview in SEC 216, 11 a.m. -12:30 p.m., by emailing Green Dot. Visit the Green Dot webpage for more information.

Annual Sprinkler Inspections

Annual sprinkler testing will begin Thursday, July 7. The procedures for entering restricted spaces will be observed. Testing goes quickly. Buildings are completed in rapid succession making specific notification difficult. Call John Myers at 273-2582 with any questions.

Visit the College Hill Farmers Market

College Hill Farmers Market is open every Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. on 22nd Street (between College Street and Olive Street). It is a producer only market with lots to offer including fresh, local produce, plants, flowers, healthy snacks, baked goods, honey, eggs, home decor, and more. Free UNI camp for middle schoolers to teach digital skills, storytelling about Black families in NE Iowa

The University of Northern Iowa will host a two-week Black Life Youth Camp in July and August for middle school-aged kids geared towards preserving local Black history through digital storytelling and imaging skills. Students will also have opportunities to bike on UNI’s campus and Cedar Valley bike trails. Dates are July 25-August 4. Sign up on the Black Life Youth camp webform.
