Zoom has become the virtual meeting platform of choice for thousands of people due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you’re new to Zoom, or virtual meetings in general, the idea of online meetings can be overwhelming for us who’ve never worked or taken classes from home.
COVID-19 is forcing us to make organizational adjustments that are outside of the comfort zone for some. Although it’s been reported that 43 percent of employees work remotely with some frequency, leading a team of employees from afar can feel daunting, especially if those employees are new to working from home.

Embezzlement is a friendly-sounding word, not harsh like “extortion.” Employers, however, have to guard against even trusted employees. The newspapers frequently report long-time employees, who embezzled money over a number of years. In many cases, the employee had overspent, sometimes out of a desire for fancy consumer items and sometimes out of desperation to cover unanticipated medical bills or car repairs.
Let’s face reality: Few Americans are capable of handling a large financial windfall. Whether you sign a huge professional sports contract or win a Mega-Jackpot lottery, you may rue the day the windfall came your way and often leaves as suddenly.

Not content with income redistribution, many politicians are advocating a “wealth tax” to redistribute wealth. The top one per cent of American households own a large proportion of wealth in America.
I recently went shopping with a friend. She went to a variety store and put several items in her basket.
At the checkout, she started conversing with the cashier. The cashier rang up most of the items but hadn’t rung up a phone card (retail value $39.99). I was wondering whether the cashier forgot to do so, because she was distracted by the conversation. I hasten to add that my friend was not purposely trying to distract the cashier.
