Donated by the class of 1970, the Mary Ann Bolton Undergraduate Research Award recognizes and celebrates students who have completed undergraduate research. Those who have conducted research using library materials and worked with a UNI faculty member or mentor can qualify. Full-time students from any major must have completed a credit-bearing course or faculty-mentored project. Projects must also be original work completed no earlier than spring of 2021.
Our very own 4th-floor Facilities Management Custodian is putting his hobbies on display here at Rod Library! Nathan Moore is not only a hard-working employee but a talented artist. Inspiration for this first installment of his collection came from Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Blades of Khorne. This tabletop game has grown into a large fandom. Moore was inspired to create these miniatures after learning various painting techniques with metallic colors. When COVID-19 first started making waves in the United States and colleges across the country began moving to online instruction, Jaycie Vos, special collections coordinator and university archivist at UNI’s Rod Library, turned to the university archives for a sense of what was to come. She searched the stacks for information on how the 1918 Spanish Flu impacted campus life at UNI but didn’t find much.
That inspired her to launch a new project to document how the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting daily life throughout the UNI and Cedar Valley communities.
