The Beverly Funk Barnes Excellence Awards are focused on rewarding university staff and faculty who continually create new value for those they work with through dedication, passion, and creativity for the benefit of UNI.
The UNI Outstanding Teaching Award is awarded to Tenure-track and contingent faculty members (term, renewable term, or adjunct). Candidates for this award may have shown significant contributions to the quality of teaching by: taking into account student needs and interests, demonstrating mastery of a variety of instructional techniques, and preparing and utilizing innovative classroom strategies and materials, among other contributions found on the website below.

The City of Cedar Falls is conducting a public survey to gather feedback for its new parks master plan. Human Resource Services will host an informational session on taxes. Join us to learn more about current tax laws including: tax credits, deductions, W-4 withholdings, and additional ways to reduce taxable income through Flex Spending and Tax-Deferred Annuities. This session will have time allotted for questions and answers to your personal tax questions. This one-hour session will be led by Cathalene Bowler, Associate Professor of Accounting, Wednesday, February 5 at 1 p.m. via Zoom. Advanced registration is required.
Visit the Career Fair on Tuesday, February 18 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the McLeod Center. The Careere Fair is open to all majors and grade levels. Employers, graduate schools and community organizations are eager to speak about their opportunities ranging from part-time or full-time jobs to internships and graduate programs.
Human Resource Services will host an informational session on retiring from UNI, for faculty and staff planning to retire soon or in the foreseeable future. Participants will learn guidelines and benefits available at retirement from UNI. This hour-long session will take place on Wednesday, January 29 at 11 a.m. in Gilchrist 009. Please register in advance.
As part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employers are required to provide the IRS Form 1095-C to employees who were offered and/or enrolled in employer health insurance. The university will provide the 1095-C form electronically in UNI Works prior to the March 3, 2025 deadline.
Preferably each employee should log in and choose to receive their 1095-C documents electronically. This provides a cost saving to UNI by saving on postage. Please see the 1095-C Form Job Aid for instructions.
