Garden of Memories Cemetery, located at 3669 Logan Avenue, Waterloo, IA 50703, is in need of volunteers to place flags on the grave of each Veteran for Memorial Day on Thursday, May 25 (May 26 rain date). Two shifts are available from 9 a.m.- noon; and 4-7 p.m. Sign up by emailing lentferjames@gmail.com or yloveless@blackhawkcounty.iowa.gov, or call 319-287-9463 to keep this noble tradition alive. Volunteers would also be needed for Wednesday May 31 throughout the day to remove the flags.
Student Wellness Services and other campus partners will be hosting De-Stress Days on May 1 through 3 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Maucker Union Ballrooms. Stop by to enjoy the following stress-relieving activities: coloring, vision boards, bracelet making, notes of gratitude, inspirational rocks, beverages, dogs provided by Pet Pals and instructed yoga classes. Human Resource Services will host a session led by Cedar Valley Hospice. Cedar Valley Hospice counselors will provide information on how to support someone who is grieving, and resources that are available in the community. This one hour session will be held Wednesday, May 17 at 2 p.m. in Gilchrist 009. Please register in advance.

Faculty may be paid for their continuing non-temporary academic year appointment in 10 or 12 equal installments beginning with the August 31 or July 31 payroll respectively. Faculty members who would like to change their salary payments from 10 to 12 months, or vice versa, must complete a Pay Frequency Change Form. The completed form can be scanned and emailed to the payroll department or sent via campus mail to Business Operations - Payroll, mail code 0008, prior to the May 15, 2023, deadline. The P&S Spring Social with the President will be on Tuesday, May 2. The social will be held in the University Room located at the Maucker Union from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. President Nook will give updates on the progress of the University.
