The Student Health Center has partnered with TELUS, a company that provides teletherapy! Download the TELUS Health Student Support App through the Apple Store or Google Play today to access confidential, mental health support with a counselor 24/7 via telephone or chat at no cost to you. Once you download the app, all you need to do is select “University of Northern Iowa” as your school to get immediate support, well-being resources, complete anonymous health assessments and more.

Prevent Heat Illness at Work

UNI Environmental Health and Safety would like to remind all campus employees to work safely during this time of excessive heat. This can include drinking a cup of water every 20 minutes, dressing for the heat and taking breaks in shady or cool locations. Additional information can be found in this handout from OSHA.

Become a Conversation Partner as UNI Welcomes over 45 New International Students

The Office of International Engagement has a fantastic volunteer opportunity within the Conversation Partner Program. The program aims to connect international students and scholars with local UNI students, Faculty and Staff to engage in conversation at least once a week. UNI WORKS Summer Progress Update

Twenty project teams began work on June 6 to lay the groundwork for UNI WORKS (a system by Workday replacing Oracle E-Business Suite on July 1, 2024). A summer progress update is available at UNIWORKS.uni.edu. Future updates will be provided monthly and as milestones are met.

Green Zone Training Opportunities

Military and Veteran Student Services is providing Green Zone Training Tuesday, September 12 in the Presidential Room Maucker Union from 1 - 2 p.m. and Thursday, October 26 in the Maucker Union Conference Room from 1 - 2 p.m. Learn about our Veteran and military students and their unique transition issues so you can better assist in their academic and personal success. Faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend. The hour-long session will be presented by the MVSS coordinator and select Veteran and military students. Please register in advance.

Celebrate 50 years of Prairie at the University of Northern Iowa!

Join the Tallgrass Prairie Center and the UNI Department of Biology Saturday, September 16 at Daryl Smith Prairie, 720 W. 29th St., Cedar Falls, to celebrate 50 years of prairie at the University of Northern Iowa. This event is free and open to the public. There will be a brief presentation at 1 p.m., and drop-in activities for both adults and children will continue until 3 p.m. Daryl Smith Prairie, a part of the UNI Biological Preserves, was first seeded in 1973. My Well-being: Confidential Biometric Screening & Flu Vaccination Clinic

Human Resource Services will host a confidential biometric screening and flu shot clinic on Friday, September 22 from 7 to 9:30 a.m. in Gilchrist 009. All benefit eligible employees may participate in one free biometric screening per academic year. For more information, and to register, visit the confidential biometric screening webpage.
