Reminder: Retirement Readiness: Retire from UNI

Human Resource Services will host an informational session on retiring from UNI, for faculty and staff planning to retire soon or in the foreseeable future. Participants will learn guidelines and benefits available at retirement from UNI. This hour long session will be presented by Therese Callaghan, Employee Well-being Coordinator, on Friday, September 29 at 10 a.m. in Gilchrist 009. Please register in advance.

September UNI WORKS Update

UNI WORKS project implementation teams are now engaged in review and validation of processes and data as they will apply in the Workday product (replacing Oracle E-business next July). Project Vision and Guiding Principles have also been completed. See UNIWORKS.uni.edu for a more detailed update.

Ethical Issues in Qualitative Research - Tuesday, Sept. 19 | 3:30-5 pm | LIB 287

Susan Etscheidt, Faculty Emerita of Special Education, will moderate a discussion on ethical principles for the framework, design, and conduct of qualitative research, including how to conceptualize research questions, engage participants and their voices in the process, and avoid objectification and "othering", particularly in disability studies. The panel will include C. Kyle Rudick, Associate Professor, Communication & Media, and David Hernandez-Saca, Associate Professor, Special Education. Rod Library, LIB 287. Please register in advance.

Part of the RSP training series - Cost Transfers - what are they, and what’s the big deal? This Zoom training forum will provide a detailed look at cost transfers including journal entries, labor distribution adjustments, and other issues on sponsored awards at UNI. Please register in advance.

Developing Women Leaders to Enhance Iowa Higher Education

The Way Up Conference will take place Thursday and Friday, November 2 and 3, in Des Moines, at the Hilton Downtown Conference Center. This annual conference is designed for women leaders and administrators in higher education in Iowa. Several of the conference concurrent sessions will be presented by UNI faculty and/or staff. My Well-being: Confidential Biometric Screening & Flu Vaccination Clinic

Human Resource Services will host a confidential biometric screening and flu shot clinic on Friday, September 22 from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in Gilchrist 009.
