Four jazz ensembles will bring a series of jazz sets to Seerley Park on Sunday, August 27, filling the park with music from 12 noon until 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. This year, the headliner band is Christopher’s Very Happy. Band at 5:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs and even partake in picnics with family and friends. Spectators can also grab a bite to eat from the local food vendors.

Download the TELUS Health Student Support App through the Apple Store or Google Play today to access confidential, mental health support with a counselor 24/7 via telephone or chat at no cost to you. Once you download the app, all you need to do is select “University of Northern Iowa” as your school to get immediate support, well-being resources, complete anonymous health assessments and more.
UNI Environmental Health and Safety would like to remind all campus employees to work safely during this time of excessive heat. This can include drinking a cup of water every 20 minutes, dressing for the heat and taking breaks in shady or cool locations. Additional information can be found in this handout from OSHA.
The Office of International Engagement has a fantastic volunteer opportunity within the Conversation Partner Program. The program aims to connect international students and scholars with local UNI students, Faculty and Staff to engage in conversation at least once a week. Twenty project teams began work on June 6 to lay the groundwork for UNI WORKS (a system by Workday replacing Oracle E-Business Suite on July 1, 2024). A summer progress update is available at UNIWORKS.uni.edu. Future updates will be provided monthly and as milestones are met.
Military and Veteran Student Services is providing Green Zone Training Tuesday, September 12 in the Presidential Room Maucker Union from 1 - 2 p.m. and Thursday, October 26 in the Maucker Union Conference Room from 1 - 2 p.m. Learn about our Veteran and military students and their unique transition issues so you can better assist in their academic and personal success. Faculty, staff and students are welcome to attend. The hour-long session will be presented by the MVSS coordinator and select Veteran and military students. Please register in advance.
