The Iowa Regents university libraries are proud to announce the upcoming publication of 5 new free, openly-licensed textbooks developed by faculty teams from across our institutions. These textbooks, which will save Iowa college students more than $300,000 per year, were funded by the Regents Open Educational Resources (OER) Grant Program, a one-time grant supported by the CARES Act Governor's Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund. All are welcome to attend the launch party for these textbooks, scheduled for Thursday, April 20 at 4:00 p.m. Register to attend the launch event via Zoom.
UNI Police will host a V.I.D.S. training session beginning Tuesday, April 25 at 1:00 p.m., in Rm 009 in Gilchrist Hall. V.I.D.S. training is designed to help individuals increase their decision-making ability and chances of survival during an active shooter or violent incident. A Task Force has been working on a Housing Needs Assessment for Cedar Falls. They invite interested Cedar Falls residents to an open house to learn about the process and its findings, and offer comments on the recommendations. The event will take place Tuesday, May 2 at the Cedar Falls Community Center (528 Main Street) from 4:00-6:00 pm.
