CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa's Center for Teaching and Learning Mathematics (CTLM) will be featured in the 2018 STEM for All Video Showcase funded by the National Science Foundation. The theme for this year's showcase is "Transforming the Educational Landscape," and it will be held Monday, May 14 to Monday, May 21 at stemforall2018.videohall.com.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Educational Talent Search, a program of the University of Northern Iowa Center for Urban Education (UNI-CUE), is sponsoring the Men of Change conference on Friday, May 18, at UNI-CUE, 800 Sycamore Street, Waterloo, Iowa. The conference will host 40 minority young men in grades 7 through 10 from area middle and high schools. These young men will be given the opportunity to engage with minority community leaders on the following topics: - Financial Literacy- Social Media and Life Skills- Community Engagement- Academics and Sports

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Jordan Downing, a Waverly-Shell Rock student and incoming UNI freshman, has been awarded the Sally Gearhart Strottman Memorial Scholarship in Elementary Education at the University of Northern Iowa. The award is given by the UNI College of Education to an incoming freshman from Northeast Iowa who will pursue a degree in elementary education. The scholarship award is $10,000 and is renewable for a total of four years.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa is now accepting applications for its Master of Arts in Science Education program scheduled to begin summer 2019, with an optional spring 2019 jump start. This program integrates theory, application and content, allowing K through 12 teachers to update pedagogy as well as add endorsement areas to their teaching licenses or update content knowledge in their specialty areas.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa is now accepting applications through May 15 for a Master of Arts in Education degree program in Special Education: Consultant Emphasis, scheduled to begin August 2018. This program is designed for highly qualified special education teachers, with completion leading to an endorsement to serve as a special education consultant as well as an instructional coach certificate.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa is now accepting enrollments in music education workshops this summer. Each workshop is designed for teachers to enhance learning and instruction in their music classrooms. One hour of undergraduate credit is available for each.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa's Conservation Corp was recognized by Iowa Campus Compact (IACC) with a 2018 Engaged Campus Award. The group received the Emerging Innovation award for their work with Community Energy & Climate Action. Nearly 50 nominations were received from 12 colleges and universities across the state for the Engaged Campus Awards. Those nominated include students, organizations, faculty, staff and alumni who have built community-campus partnerships, community service programs, service-learning courses and lead institutional engagement.
