UNI NEWS SERVICES– The University of Northern Iowa is currently accepting applications for the Managing Business and Organizations (MBO) Bachelor of Applied Science program, which will be offered online for the first time starting in August.  The program is designed to help adult learners build upon the skills and knowledge acquired during their Associate of Applied Science degree through the development of professional competencies needed to serve effectively in managerial and supervisory roles.

UNI NEWS SERVICES - Students at the University of Northern Iowa will receive as much as $2,200 in federal aid beginning this week as the university works to distribute funding available through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act - financial assistance designed to help students impacted by COVID-19.

UNI NEWS SERVICES - The University of Northern Iowa is pleased to announce that Alison Altstatt, associate professor in the UNI School of Music, has received a $6,000 summer research stipend from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

For the second straight year, the University of Northern Iowa plans to keep its tuition flat as part of an ongoing effort to provide students a high-quality, affordable education. Previously announced were plans for no increase in room and board rates for next year.  The proposal was announced by the President of the Board of Regents in a public meeting today. A vote is planned in June. The move would give current and incoming UNI students more certainty during a time when many families are adjusting to life amid a global pandemic.

UNI NEWS SERVICES-- The University of Northern Iowa is now accepting enrollments in two music education workshops this summer. Each workshop is designed for teachers to enhance learning and instruction in their music classrooms. One hour of graduate or undergraduate credit is available for each.

UNI NEW SERVICES - As part of continuing efforts to support its students during the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Northern Iowa is launching a new scholarship fund and will separately distribute nearly $4 million in federal aid to help with their housing, food and other expenses.

UNI NEWS SERVICE - Connecting the community through music is a key goal for the University of Northern Iowa Community Music School, which offers various programs for the public, such as the UNI Children’s Choir, the New Horizons Band, Camp Musicmania and more. In an effort to continue teaching and promoting music, even as people are physically apart, the UNI Community Music School is offering virtual music lessons online this summer.

UNI NEWS SERVICES - The University of Northern Iowa College of Business Administration once again earned the “gold standard” for business colleges worldwide after the AACSB extended its accreditation for another five years in recognition of its continued excellence in education. Only 5% of business schools worldwide have earned AACSB accreditation, and UNI was one of just 38 business schools in the country to receive the extension.

UNI NEWS SERVICES - A program from the University of Northern Iowa’s College of Business Administration was one of only 25 programs nationwide to receive the AASCB Innovations That Inspire award, which recognizes institutions from around the world that serve as champions of change in the business education landscape.  UNI was recognized for Succession Iowa, a program at the Center for Business Growth and Innovation which was developed to address the closing of viable rural businesses due to the lack of a successor or exit strategy.
