The University of Northern Iowa’s department of marketing will host the inaugural Digital Marketing Forum from 5-6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, in the Center for Energy and Environmental Education (CEEE 11) on campus. The event is in partnership with nationally recognized digital marketing agency Spinutech, and a number of other business and community leaders will present at the conference, including two Google executives.

The University of Northern Iowa is gearing up for a weekend packed with activities open to the community and Panther families from Oct. 18-20. FRIDAY EVENTS The Panther volleyball team will host the Drake Bulldogs at 6 p.m. Oct. 18 in the McLeod Center. Tickets are $7 at the door. The Orchesis Dance Company will have two free performances during the weekend starting at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18. A second show will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20. Both events will be held in Bengston Auditorium in Russell Hall.

The first lecture will feature Sandra Cisneros, poet, short story writer, novelist, essayist, performer, community activist, and artist, at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 28, in Lang Auditorium, on UNI's campus.

The UNI School of Music will host an unaccompanied tuba recital performance by guest artist Austin Crumrine at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10. in Davis Hall, Gallagher Bluedorn on the UNI campus. Austin Crumrine is a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate in tuba performance at The Ohio State University where he serves as graduate associate for the tuba/euphonium studio. He received his Bachelor of Music in tuba performance from the University of North Texas (UNT) and his Masters of Music in tuba performance from Baylor University.

The University of Northern Iowa Reserved Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) will host its fourth annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, in the Lang Hall Auditorium on the UNI campus. This year's Hall of Fame will honor two inductees: Lt. Col. (retired) Bobbie Lydell Williams, ’86, and Lt. Col. (retired) Dr. Jeffrey Adamovicz, ’84.

Crews will be wheat pasting five enormous images on three different buildings on College Hill to commemorate the University of Northern Iowa’s 100th Homecoming anniversary on Oct. 5. The images come from Fortepan Iowa, a historic digital photo archive launched in 2015 and based at the University of Northern Iowa. The archive features curated photos taken by ordinary Iowans in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

The University of Northern is welcoming a world-renowned expert on the periodic table in recognition of the 150th anniversary of the iconic scientific chart. Eric Scerri, a full-time lecturer in chemistry and history and philosophy of science at UCLA, will discuss his research on the periodic table at the annual Leland Wilson Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 in Lantz Auditorium, McCollum Science Hall.
