UNI Gallery of Art to present Department of Art Faculty Exhibition

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa Gallery of Art, in association with the UNI Department of Art, will present the 2022 Department of Art Faculty Exhibition from Thursday, Jan. 20 through Friday, Feb. 25. The opening reception begins at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26, in the Kamerick Art Building (KAB) south lobby.

Our very own 4th-floor Facilities Management Custodian is putting his hobbies on display here at Rod Library! Nathan Moore is not only a hard-working employee but a talented artist. Inspiration for this first installment of his collection came from Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Blades of Khorne. This tabletop game has grown into a large fandom. Moore was inspired to create these miniatures after learning various painting techniques with metallic colors. "Better Together" will be the theme of the 40th Annual Scholarship Benefit Concert, hosted by the UNI School of Music. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24 at the Great Hall in the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center (GBPAC) on the University of Northern Iowa campus.

Local Legends concert series

Concert series celebrating homegrown talent returns to the Gallagher Bluedorn

A concert series that started as a way to keep live music alive during COVID-19 will return this week to the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center.

The Local Legends Series is a monthly concert series where favorite hometown acts will take to the Great Hall stage and perform concerts for a hybrid audience who attend in-person or virtually. The series will kick off at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9 with back-to-back performances by Amz and The Nitpickers. This free performance is open to both in person and virtual audiences.

UNI Gallery of Art to present 'The Earth Is a House of Stories: Works from the UNI Permanent Art Collection by Native Artists'

The University of Northern Iowa Gallery of Art will present an exhibition in the Mary Haskell-Hansen Room of the Gallery titled "The Earth Is a House of Stories: Works from the UNI Permanent Art Collection by Native Artists," which will be open to the public on the following dates: August 23 – September 25; October 15 – November 6; and December 2 – 15. Please note, the Gallery will be closed Monday, September 6 for Labor Day.
