Updating Employee Emergency Contact Information

Accurate and up to date emergency contact information is critical for every employee.  In the event of an accident/injury or sudden illness, your department, division and/or Human Resource Services will use this information to inform your contact(s).  To keep this information current, all University of Northern Iowa employees are urged to update their contact information each year or when a change occurs.  To add and/or update your emergency contacts please access UNI e-Business Suite.  Login and click on “UNI Employee Self Service” then click the “Emergency Contact Info” link.  On the Emergency Contact Info: Extra Information page, please carefully read the instructions to guide your effort.  For questions, contact the HRS office at hrs-mail@uni.edu or 273-2422.

Preparing Your IRB Application - Tuesday, January 16 | 1-2 pm

Are you ready to prepare an IRB application, but you just aren't sure where to begin? Join IRB Administrator Lisa Ahern for a basic "How-To" Zoom session on using Cayuse, the IRB application system. Learn where you can find resources to build supporting documents for your application and common mistakes to avoid. Please register in advance.

Financial Wellness: Preparing for Tax Season: What You Need to Know

Human Resource Services will host an informational session on taxes. Join us to learn more about current tax laws including: tax credits, deductions, W-4 withholdings and additional ways to reduce taxable income through Flex Spending and Tax-Deferred Annuities. This one-hour session will be led by Cathalene Bowler, Associate Professor of Accounting, Tuesday, January 23 at 11 a.m. via Zoom. Advanced registration is required.

New Review Policy

Policy 4.75: Staff Tuition Reimbursement Program is now up for review on the Policies site. This policy must be reviewed by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

Own Your Benefits: New Wellmark ID Cards

All employees enrolled in either the UNI Blue HMO, or UNI PPO health insurance plans are receiving new ID cards. It’s important to put it in your wallet and destroy any old ID cards with an effective date before January 1, 2024. Always show your doctor’s office or pharmacy the most up-to-date card. You may log into your MyWellmark account to request additional cards if more than two are needed.

Retirement Readiness: Retire from UNI

Human Resource Services will host an informational session on retiring from UNI, for faculty and staff planning to retire soon or in the foreseeable future. Participants will learn guidelines and benefits available at retirement from UNI. This hour-long session will take place on Monday, January 29 at 10 a.m. in Gilchrist 009. Please register in advance
